Rural bank seeks better ties with state

Aizawl, Apr 09: The Mizoram Rural Bank officers association, in its 9th biennial conference here have urged the state government to find more uses of their offices for turning benefits for the people across the region.

Since the Mizoram Rural Bank has the largest number of branches in the state and being a scheduled bank, the government should find better use of the banks for payment of monthly salaires to government employees besides using the offices for other financial activities, they urged during the meeting.

The bank authorities also hailed the government for providing security guards to several branches and requested to provide more security guards to the branches now without security.

The rural bank association was proud that as many as 4197 families in Mizoram could start business under several new schemes through the bank during the past fiscal year.

While 3463 familes had their own house build through the bank, the officials claimed.
