Prohibitory orders promulgated in district headquarters

Garwah, Apr 9 (UNI) Prohibitory orders under section 144 Cr P C were promulgated in this district headquarters town in Jharkhand for four days since last night following mounting tension in the area, official sources said.

Stray incidents of violence were reported during the dawn to dusk bandh called by the Vishwa Hindu Parishad(VHP), Bajrang Dal and BJP yesterday. Some miscreants damaged a CRPF vehicle and set a motorcycle on fire.

Sources said the situation was under control and adequate forces were deployed to maintain law and order.

No fresh incident was reported after the promulgation of the prohibitory orders. However, the situation was stated to be tense, sources added.
