Nayak, Padte to be produced before ACB court on Apr 13
Mumbai, Apr 9 (UNI) Suspended encounter specialist Daya Nayak and his assocate Rajendra Padte, arrested in the disproportionate assets case registered against the former, will be produced before the special anti-corruption bureau (ACB) court on April 13 for extension of their judicial remand.
Both of them are in the judicial custody till April 13. While Nayak is in the Bhoiwada police lock-up due to security reasons, Padte is in the Arthur Road jail.
The ACB had registered a case on January 20 against Nayak for amassing wealth disproportionate to his known sources of income.
His wife Komal and associates Rajendera Padte and P Manivelan have also been booked.
Komal was, however, granted anticipatory bail, while Manivelan was released on bail on a technical ground since the investigating agency did not file chargesheet within the stipulated 60 days.
The ACB, during a raid on the night of January 20, claimed to have detected assets worth Rs 41.75 lakhs.
