Haryana 'Vision Document'to be presented shortly: CS

Gurgaon, Apr 9 (UNI) Haryana Chief Secretary Meenaxi Anand Choudhary today said in order to make Haryana a number one state in the country, 'Vision-2020 Document' will be presented shortly which will comprise all the blue prints of the development schemes of the state.

The Chief Secretary while addressing the annual general meeting of Chamber of Commerce and Industries here said Haryana was at present having the maximum per capita income after Goa in the country and the day is not far off when it would become the leading state in the country.

She commented that in order to compete with the international level, special stress was being laid for upgrading infrastructure in the state to that level.

She revealed the work of 135 km Rai-Bahadurgarh-Palwal super expressway would be completed by 2010. The work on the Rohtak-Jhajjar-Rewari railway track would commence soon whose sanction had been accorded by the Union Government. This will prove to be a boon for the common people and traders of the area.

Mrs Choudhary said that due to new industrial policy of the state government, an investment to the tune of Rs one lakh crore has been received. Besides this 682 new industrial units had been set up providing employment to 10,000 youth of the state. Letter of intents for setting up 152 big and medium industries have also been received at a cost of Rs 1308 crore thereby providing employment opportunities to 33,000 unemployed youth, she added.

She also stated a new chapter would commence in the industrial development of the state with the setting up of Rs 30,000 crore Petro-Chemical Hub at Panipat.

She informed that in order to attract industries in the state Central Government had been urged to give same concessions as given to Himachal Pradesh for setting up industries in Aravali, Mewat and Shivalik areas of Haryana.

She disclosed that the centre has approved setting up of National Food Park and National Food Technology Institute at Kundli at a cost of Rs 350 crore. Automobile industry cluster at Gurgaon at a cost of Rs 80 crore, apparel park at a cost of Rs 10 crore at Barai and National Fashion Technology Institute at Gurgaon.

She also revealed that the centre had given clearance for setting up of 23 special economic zones in the state. While setting up these zones, all modern facilities would be extended to the entrepreneurs.

Mrs Choudhary said Gurgaon and Faridabad would be connected by Metro in the near future. The report about linking of metro by Qutub to IFFCO chowk, Gurgaon would be presented before the Central Government soon.

She said that at present Haryana was at third place in the country in the export of software and efforts were being made to get on the top position.

The Chief Secretary said that the place for setting up of solid waste disposal unit would be identified soon so that the city may be freed from this problem soon.
