Fisherman, family meet watery grave

Guntur, Andhra Pradesh, Apr 9 (UNI) A fishermen's family met with a watery grave after their boat developed a leak and sank in River Krishna this morning.

Police said the fisherman, his wife and child had set out on their boat before dawn in their boat, near Venkatayapalem village, hoping to get a good catch to meet increased demand for fish on Sundays when the mishap occurred.

Though the couple were expert swimmers, they perished in their attempt to save the child, police added.
