Fire breaks out in a ginning and processing unit near Kuwadva

Rajkot, Apr 9 (UNI) A major fire broke out last evening in the godown of the Ginning and Processing unit near Kuwadva on the outskirts of the Rajkot city.

One fire fighter and two water tankers were pressed in to service and fire was put out after struggling for four hours, fire brigade sources said.

Cotton worth about Rs 50 lakh was reduced to ashes and an equal amount of goods have been saved from the fire, sources said.

Inflammable object, which fell on the cotton, is said to be the cause of the fire, the sources added.
