Director duo Abbas-Mustan back with '36,China Town'

Mumbai, Apr 9 (UNI) Director duo Abbas-Mustan, known for their blockbuster hits like 'Khiladi' and 'Baazigar' are back with their new entertainment suspense thriller '36,China Town', which releases on May 5.

Their new project stars Akshaye Khanna, Kareena Kapoor and Shahid Kapur, while introducing model Upen Patel and has been produced by Subhash Ghai's Mukta Arts Ltd.

Abbas-Mustan are currently in the process of finalising their next movie with Ghai, which will go on floors in August this year.

This is their second film with Subhash Ghai, the first being 'Aitraaz', starring Akshay Kumar, Kareena Kapoor and Priyanka Chopra last year. The film catapulted Chopra, a former Miss World, into a top-league actress.

Speaking at the music release of '36,China Town' last night, the director duo expressed confidence that the film would entertain audiences like their earlier movies. They said debutant Upen Patel would emerge as a promising star as well.

Subhash Ghai said he never intefered in the director duo's work.

'Abbas-Mustan are such committed filmmakers with a vision that they just need a good production house to back them''.

'36,China Town' promises to be another sure entertainer from Abbas-Mustan and is going to keep the audience on the edge of their seats. Perfectly complementing the mood of the film is the music created by Himesh Reshammiya'', he said.

Kareena and Shahid along with Akshaye Khanna said they were excited to be part of the project. ''The album has a very fun feel to it'', they added.

The highlight of the event was a live show featuring Upen Patel dancing to the chartbusting number 'Ashiqui' from the film.

When asked about their next project, Abbas-Mustan said they would give details about it after the release of '36, China Town'.
