Decision on May round-table after consultations: Hurriyat

Srinagar, Apr 9: The moderate Hurriyat Conference has said that it will take a decision on participating in the proposed second round-table on Kashmir to be held here in May after thorough consultations among the amalgam leaders.

''We will take a decision after thorough deliberations between us,'' former Hurriyat Conference Chairman Prof Abdul Ghani Bhat said here.

He said the round-table was the Centre's an initiative and has its own importance.

''We do not want to downplay the importance of any event, but would like to have a consensus among ourselves before moving ahead,'' Prof Bhat added.

However, in the same vein, the senior Hurriyat leader said the round-table was an attempt to divide the people of Jammu and Kashmir into communities and groups.
