Centre a 'stumbling' block, alleges SBI Associations
Kolkata, Apr 8 (UNI) The Bengal circle of State Bank of India Staff Association and State Bank of India Officers' Association today hit out against the Centre, alleging it of being a stumbling block to the review of pension as agreed by SBI management.
As the ongoing country-wide strike completed the sixth day, Mr Ashok Datta, General Secretary SBI Staff Association in a release said, ''It is unfortunate that even after the economy is getting badly hit, the government is still indifferent to our cause though it has nothing to doll out from the government exchequer''.
SBI Oficers' Association General Secreary S K Haldar said, '' The struggle of the workmen and officers of SBI are gaining momentum day by day as more organisations are supporting us,''.
The relaese stated that constituent unions of United Forum of Bank Unions, employees' organisations in financial sectorss like IDBI, NABARD, LIC and GIC and also Central Trade Unions, namely AITUC and CITU and other organisations, including those of State and Central government pensioners have conveyed their support.
