BJP announces second list of candidates for assembly poll

Pondicherry, Apr 9 (UNI) The Pondicherry unit of the Bharathiya Janata Party (BJP) contesting the assembly elections in the Union Territory announced the second list of party candidates today.

Talking to newspersons here, Party General Secretary Visveswaran said P M Kalyanasundaram, who had joined the BJP last week, will contest as the party's candidate in Lawspet constituency, while Mr Kannan will contest from Villianur and Arumugham from Thirubhuvanai constituency.

Mr Visveswaran said the party had already announced 20 candidates, and added that some parties had held talks with the BJP.

The final list, if needed, would be announced after conclusion of talks with such parties, he added.
