Hubli, Apr 9 (UNI) The fast-unto-death agitation by senior advocate Iligar, demanding the praposed circuit bench of the Karnataka high court be set up at a place located between the twin cities of Dharwad and Hubli, entered for the third day here today.

Addressing a press conference here today the Dharwar bar association president R G Kodli, has said that the agitation demanding the Karnataka state government not to start construction of the praposed circuit bench building at Walmi near dharwad would continue till their demands are met as the praposed place at WALMI will not help the litigant public in anyway.

Mr Kodli has said that while giving permission to set up high court bench at North Karantaka the then Chief justice of the Karnataka high court A K Jain had clearly mentioned in the order that it should be set up at the place agreed by the advocates community and also to the convenience of the litigant public.

Mr Kodli also alleged that the previous state government shown hurry in laying foundation stone for the works of the praposed circuit building at the place which was yet to be handed over to the public works department. Reiterating that the praposed place at WALMI to construct the high court circuit building will not help in any way to the litigant public he urged the state government to re-consider its decision to go ahead with its intention to start it at WALMI. He said that the government may also consider any other suitable place including Karnataka state reserve police (KSRP) building situated between Hubli and Dharwad.
