Advani unconcerned about defamation suit from Verma

Surat, Apr 9 (UNI) Senior BJP leader and Leader of the Opposition L K Advani today declined to react about defence arms dealer Abhishek Verma's filing a defamation suit against him.

Asked for his reaction, Mr Advani said he had nothing to say nor was he concerned about Mr Verma's filing the case but added tbat he was surprised that the media had taken this person, facing several questionable charges, seriously.

''His is not a case where he only faced allegations but one in which prosecution agencies were convinced about his cupability in several cases,'' Mr Advani said.

''The NDA government had not persecuted him needlessly. The Government maintained that there was no middleman in the Scorpene submarines deal but clearly mention the percentage of money paid to the middleman,'' he added.
