WFI to request IOA to include wrestling in Commonwealth Youth Games
Pune, Apr 8 (UNI) The Wrestling Federation of India (WFI) will request Indian Olympic Association (IOA) to include wrestling as one of the disciplines in the 2008 Commonwealth Youth Games to be held here.
Announcing this here today, WFI Secretary Balasaheb Landge told reporters that such a move would give exposure and platform for the young wrestlers.
Landge backed his demand by pointing out that wrestling is included in the 2010 Commonwealth Games in Delhi.
He also informed that the Sports Authority of India (SAI) has adopted Mamasaheb Mohal Wrestling Academy near Katraj.
