UN postpones function to felictate BCCI, PCB
Lahore, Apr 8 (UNI) The United Nations has postponed the function to feliciate Indian and Pakistani boards for promoting peace due to unavailibilty of players of both the teams for the occasion, PCB chairman Shaharyar Khan said.
United Nations Secretary General Kofi Annan was to bestow the award, in the United States, to representatives of both the boards for promoting peace in the sub continent through cricket.
Shaharyar said that the function had been postponed because the UN was preferring the presence of the Indian and Pakistan cricket teams on the occasion.
He said the PCB would propose to the UN to hold such ceremony in India during the Champions Trophy in October-Novemeber this year.
