Ultra using new methods for transportation of arms

Jammu, Apr 8 (UNI) A new trend has been observed wherein the terrorist organisations are using novel methods for transportation of weapons and ammunition from one location to another without catching the eye of security forces.

On March 29 and 30, troops of Romeo Force recovered two gas cylinders with arms and ammunition in it from village Kaneti and Banola.

The cylinders were longer than the normal gas cylinder and appeared to be tailor-made for transportation of arsenal and Kashelnikov rifles, Rocket Launchers and other ammunition.

Improvised Explosive Device (IED) making material was also found hidden inside the cylinders, a Defence spokesperson said.

''The base plate of the these cylinders is screwed to an inner pipe and can be opened to accommodate the arms and ammunition.

Cotton waster was stuffed inside to ensure the ammunition did not rattle to create suspicion. The metal sheet used is slightly thinner than what is used for normal gas cylinders,'' the spokesperson added.
