Swamy condemns reservations in IIT's, IIMs
Chennai, Apr 8 (UNI) The Congress-led UPA government's decision to provide reservation in IITs, IIMs and private non-minority run higher educational institutions was part of a ''sinister international conspiracy'' to divide Hindu society, Janata Party President Dr Subramaniam Swamy said today.
In a statement here, ''he said 'the intention behind the decision becomes clear when we realise that the reservation order will not apply to Christian and Islamic-run institutions, nor will it apply in universities set up by foreign educational institutions.'' Backward class students could not be progress due to quotas but by scholarships and free tuition, he said.
