SBI employees stir affects Arunachal economy

Itanagar, Apr 08 (UNI) The ongoing SBI employees strike has taken its toll on the economy of Arunachal Pradesh.

SBI is the custodian of cash in the state.

Other affiliated banks like Vijaya Bank, UCO bank and Bank of Baroda were also facing liquidity crisis, according to official sources.

Arunachal Chamber of Commjerce and Industry general secretary Tarak Nachung Tariang said the traders were the worst victims so also the government and PSU offices transacting cash as the sole custodian of cash SBI was on strike.

''They should not hold the masses to ransom just to get their demands fulfilled,'' he added.
