Sainiks resort to 'rail roko' at Dharmabad over Babhali project
Nanded, Apr 8 (UNI) Shiv Sainiks, led by their district unit chief Hemant Patil, today staged a 'rail roko' to protest against the neighbouring Andhra Pradesh's opposition to the construction of Babhli dam at Babhli village, close to the Maharashtra-Andhra border.
Over 250 sainiks detained the Hyderabad-bound Devgiri expressat Dharmabad railway station for about 45 minitus this morning, The sainiks were arrested by the railway police, but later released on bail.
Union Water Resources Minister Saifuddin Soz recently ordered a statusco on the construction of project, at a specially convened meeting in Delhi, attended by Maharashtra Chief Minister Vilasrao Deshmukh and his Andhra counterpart.
