Country's first pvt luxury train

Jaipur, Apr 8: A new luxury train under Indian Railways' public-private partnership project may soon rumble through Rajasthan.

According to sources, the Oberoi group of hotels are willing to sponsor this eight coach and 24 cabin luxury train, which is expected to touch Jaipur, Jodhpur, Udaipur, Chittorgarh, Jaisalmer and Ranthambhore National Park on its journey.

The proposal is currently pending with Indian Railways Catering and Tourism Corporation, which is expected to finance the first public-private partnership venture of this kind.

If the proposal is cleared, Rajasthan will be the first state to have a private luxury train running through its exotic locales.

Rajasthan already has two luxury trains namely the Palace on Wheels and the Heritage on Wheels.
