PM, Sonia to undertake two phase campaign in TN

Chennai, Apr 8 (UNI) Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and Congress President Sonia Gandhi will undertake two phase campaigning in Tamil Nadu for the May eight Assembly polls.

Talking to reporters here today, TNCC President M Krishnasamy said the dates and schedule would be announced later.

Apart from Dr Singh and Ms Gandhi, several AICC leaders and Chief Ministers of Congress-ruled States have been invited to campaign.

The two-year achievements of the Congress-led UPA Government at the Centre and the five-year 'misrule' of the Jayalalithaa government in the State would be the poll plank of the party, he said.

''We will inform people about the achievements of the Congress-led government at the Centre and the misrule of theruling AIADMK in the State', Mr Krishnasamy said.

The Congress manifesto is ready and has been sent to New Delhi for getting approval from Ms Gandhi. 'It will be released in the next couple of days'.

The TNCC Chief warned of stringent action against dissidents and said 'rebellion will not affect the poll prospects of the Congress'.

''The chances of victory are very, very bright'', he added.
