MCD seals 298 more properties

New Delhi, Apr 8 (UNI) The Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) today sealed 298 properties across the capital taking the total number to 3,235 so far.

The maximum number of 56 units were sealed in the Shahdara (North) area while 55 properties were sealed in Rohini, 53 in Civil Lines, 46 in Karol Bagh, 29 in West Delhi and 27 in Shahdara (south).

While 24 units were sealed in Najafgarh, 3 properties each were sealed in central Delhi and Sadar Paharganj areas and one in South Delhi.

The deadline to file the affidavits, to close down their shops by June 30, expired yesterday.

To protest against sealing of shops, traders today formed a human chain from Nehru Place Chowk to Tuglaqabad Chowk, a stretch of about 5 km. They also closed their shops for half a day in protest.
