Manipur reeling under heavy power crisis
Imphal, Apr 8 (UNI) Manipur is facing acute power crisis due to shortage of power and collapse of six 132 KV towers in Imphal.
Power department officials said here today that these towers had collapsed in Lamdeng and Mayangimphal.
''We are trying to restore these towers. But power supply would be affected until the towers were restored, Superintending Engineer (Transmission) N Sharat said.
Most of the areas are facing heavy load-shedding through out the day while in some areas people are getting power at night every alternate day.
The Loktak hydro-electric project in the state was not producing adequate power due to shortage of water.
