Jamshedpur, Apr 8 (UNI) Absence of regular captain Rahul Dravid, the series win and rising heat have cast their spell on the sale of tickets for the sixth one day international between India and England to be played at Keenan Stadium here on April 12.

Jharkhand State Cricket Association (JSCA) sources said the first day of ticket sale began here today but the steel city, which was known for cricket loving fans, responded negatively as the counters were almost empty except the students' counter.

The response was not like previous matches even among the students.

The counters for seats costing Rs 600 and Rs 800 seats were empty, the sources said.

Meanwhile, a strict security blanket has been thrown in and around the stadium where tickets were being sold.

The organisers, however, hoped that the sale of tickets would pick up from tomorrow.

JSCA secretary B.N. Singh denied that the heat was the reason for the poor response.

''We have earlier organised matches in summer but there was no dearth of response from cricket crazy public. I think that winning of series and absence of some star cricketers are the reasons for lack of enthusiasm among the cricket lovers. Anyway, our arrangements are complete and the Keenan stadium is ready for the sixth ODI,'' said Mr Singh.
