Life paralysed in Palamu

Daltanganj, Apr 8 (UNI) Life was paralysed in Jharkhand's Palamu Commissionery comprising Palamu, Garwah and Latehar districts following a dawn-to-dusk bandh today.

The bandh was called by the Viswa Hindu Parishad, Bajrang Dal and the BJP in protest against the killing of two persons in police firing at Bishrampur, a block headquarter, about 45 km from here yesterday.

Police resorted to firing to disperse a violent mob, which tried to barge into a shrine. About 25 others were also injured in the firing. Some of them were admitted to hopspital, official sources said.

The shops and business establishments in the three districts were closed and all kinds of vehicles went off the raods.

No untoward incident had been reported from any part of the bandh -affected districts so far, the report added.
