K R Hospital modernisation soon: Minister
Mysore, Apr 8 (UNI) Karnataka Medical Education Minister V S Acharya today said a Governing Council meeting will be held in Bangalore within 15 days with officials from Finance, Medical Council and other departments to discuss about improving K R Hospital here.
Speaking to newspersons after inspecting the hospital, he said efforts would be made to improve the condition of the hospital and provide necessary facilities to ensure better service to the people.
Stating that the proposal to grant autonomy to K R Hospital was very much on the cards, the Minister said the pros and cons would be looked into before taking any decision.
About Rs 1,300 crore had been earmarked for medical education, of which Rs 37 crore had been set apart for ayurvedic colleges in the State, he said, adding that the ayurvedic college here should be modernised and assured Government assistance.
