Ghani still critical
Kolkata, Apr 8 (UNI) The condition of former Union Minister A B A Ghani Khan Chowdhury remained critical today as he continued to be on supportive measures.
"His condition still remains critical. He is on supportive measures for his blood pressure, pulse and kidney functioning," a medical bulletin said.
Dr.Sukumar Mukherjee, one of the attending doctors, said Mr.Khan Chowdhury still had an acute abdomen for which a CT scan was conducted this afternoon.
The heavyweight Congress veteran was flown in here from Malda on April three by an Air Force helicopter following abdominal pain and acute respiratory problem. He was put on ventilation after being admitted to a private nursing home.
A host of AICC leaders, including Defence Minister Pranab Mukherjee, Information and Broadcasting Minister Priya Ranjan Das Munshi, AICC General Secretary Margaret Alva besides Lok Sabha Speaker Somnath Chatterjee visited him at the nursing home.
