Hurriyat Chairman Geelani discharged from hospital
Srinagar, Apr 8: Breakaway Hurriyat Chairman Syed Ali Shah Geelani, suffering from gastro-intestinal ailment, was today discharged from hospital here after doctors declared his condition as stable.
Hurriyat spokesman Ayaz Akbar told UNI that Mr Geelani has been advised complete bed rest for few days.
The firebrand separatist leader was yesterday admitted to the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) of the Sri Maharaja Hari Singh (SMHS) Hospital here after he suffered gastro-intestinal bleeding.
A team of doctors, headed by SMHS Medical Superintendent Dr Wasim Qureshi, continuously monitored Mr Geelani's condition.
The Hurriyat leader complained of stomach pain after addressing a rally in central Kashmir district of Badgam yesterday.
Mr Geelani was immediately rushed to his Hyderpora residence near here where doctors after examination had referred him to the SMHS hospital.
