Congress, Agp supporters clash after CM' rally in Asom

Mangaldai, Apr 8 (UNI) Several people were injured when police used batons to disperse two rival political parties involved in fighting at Duni, about 15 kms from here, today.

As hundreds of Congress supporters were emerging out after hearing an election meeting of Asom Chief Minsiter Tarun Gogoi and streamed into the road there came an AGP procession and fight ensued.

Police were immediately called to restore peace there. When requests failed, the law enforcing agency, resorted to lathicharge to drive away the warring groups.

Several supporters of both the parties were injured in the clash and the subsequent lathicharge.
