CEC calls on Asom voters to vote fearlessly

Guwahati, Apr 8 (UNI) Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) B B Tandon today reiterated his appeal to the people of Asom to vote freely and fearlessly in the second phase of assembly polls on April 10.

In a message, the CEC called on the people to maintain the peaceful and fair record set in the first phase on April 3 and congratulated them for ensuring smooth polling during the previous polls.

The statement added that about 42,000 security and police personnel had been deployed for the final phase on Monday.

Mr Tandon also extended his greetings to the people of the state on the occasion of Rongali Bihu.
