BJP-CPI clash, tension prevailes in Kodungallur

Thrissur, Apr 8 (UNI) Tension prevailed in Ala in Sreenarayanapuram panchayat in Kodungallur following clashes between BJP and CPI workers today.

Four CPI workers, including a woman, and two BJP activists were injured in the clashes.

They have been admitted to hospital.

The CPI local committee office was also attacked.

A dispute in connection with a temple festival was stated to be the reason for the incident.

District Superintendent of Police M N Jayaprakash visited the area.
