Adulterated food: Teachers suspended

Bhopal, Apr 8: Tribal Welfare Minister Kunwar Vijay Shah has ordered suspension of three teachers in connection with the death of a girl student and 23 others inmates of a tribal hosted at Amarkantar in Anuppur following sick after adulterated food was served to them.

Ordering an inquiry by Tribal Development Commissioner, Mr Shah took serious note of the incident and suspended Ashram Superintendent Ms Anuradha Dhurve, Principal K D Mishra and Assistant Teacher Uday Singh Dhurve, official sources said.

He also ordered payment of Rs 10,000 to the family of Ms Sumitra Singh, who died, and Rs 2,000 each to other affected students.

As many as 24 students of the girls residential school were affected by food poisoning. Of them, 23 were discharged, while one died.
