Two shot dead in Kanpur

Kanpur, Apr 7 (UNI) Two people were shot dead and three others injured in two separate attacks by armed assailants in Coolibazar area here today.

Police Superintendent (City) Sabha Raj Singh said Raja and Sonu Sonkar, belonging to different castes, had clashed with each other earlier. Sonkar's accomplices fired at Sonu today. He has been hospitalised and his condition is stated to be critical.

Later, Sonkar's relative Hari Om Sonkar (22) was fired upon by the same group killing him on the spot.

A trader, Anil Gupta (32), also came in the line of fire. Gupta later succumbed at thew hospital.

Two others wounded in the attack have also been admitted to hospital, where condition of one of them was stated to be critical, Mr Singh added.

A hunt has been launched to nab the culprits.
