President seeks judiciary to speedily dispose corruption cases
Bangalore, Apr 7 (UNI) President A P J Abdul Kalam today sought the judiciary of the country to help remove corruption.
Inaugurating the Golden Jubilee celebrations of the Karnataka High Court, the President lamented widespread corruption in the country and the apathy shown by children on the sourge of corruption on the society and said that the judiciary should speedily dispose of cases pertaining to corruption and help the cause.
Referring to the interaction he had with school children in Tumkur, Madikeri and Bangalore where the question of corruption was raised he said ''Agony of the young mind is reflected in this question''.
''Definitely, the self-esteem of every Indian is affected when someone says India is a corrupt nation'' he said and added that the judiciary should ''spare time on eliminating corruption''.
''Based on the vast experience of dealing with many cases, you may suggest streamlining and re-engineering of procedure that would make us transparent and remove the possibilities for corruption'' he added.
