Naxalites release tribal students
Jagdalpur (CG), Apr 7 (UNI) Eight tribal students abducted by naxalites from Dodra village in Konta police station area of Dantewada district in Chhattisgarh were released last evening, police today said.
The students were abducted on Wednesday when they were returning along with 50 other villagers after fishing at a nearby village.
Meanwhile, Bailadila-Vishakhapatnam passenger train has been cancelled today following naxalities call for Andhra bandh, railway sources said.
The left wing extremists, who had stepped up their activities recently, set ablaze 44 drums of tar and took away a tractor used in road work on Pakhanjur-Bande road in Kanker district yesterday.
About 30 naxalites, who reached there on two wheelers, threatened the workers from constructing the road, police said.
