Kovai Volleyball Academy ready to train first batch in Apr

Coimbatore, Apr 7 (UNI) The Kovai Volleyball Academy set up by enthusiastic volleyball lovers in the city along with Sri Krishna Arts and Science College will select players for training on April 11 and 12.

Speaking to reporters here today, Academy President R Govindarajulu said Arjuna awardee G E Sridharan will be the Chief Coach for the Academy.

Former international Volleyball player V C Ramalingam will also coach the students.

Govindarajulu said various corporates had come forward to support the academy. The minimum qualification to join the academy was a pass in higher secondary examination and the candidates must be more than 1.90 metre tall.

Only 12 to 15 students will be selected for the first year, he said. The academy will be formally launched in June next.
