Girijans plea to Govt on ITDA
Rajahmundry, Apr 7 (UNI) The Girijans Welfare and Cultural Association (GWCA) today demanded the government to fill vacancies in Integral Tribal Development Area (ITDA) only with Adivasis according to GO 3.
Addressing presspersons here, GWCA Secretary Srinivas, Rajahmundry Branch President K Ranga Rao and Advisor T Kanaka Raju said bogus certificate holders in the ITDA should be weeded out as they affected the prospects of genuine Adivasis.
They alleged promotions were not being given as per seniority and people from other sects deputed to ITDA instead of tribals, they alleged.
They also wanted qualified tribals working in other departments to be posted to ITDA and employment of local tribal youth in the area.
A state-level Girijans Cultural Fete under the banner of 'Girijan Sambaralu' will be conducted on Ambedkar Anniversary on April 14 at Government Junior College in Rampachodavaram in which 10,000 tribals all over the state were expected to attend.
