Youth should emulate Baddam's example: Narayana
Hyderabad, Apr 6 (UNI) CPI State Secretary K Narayana today appealed to the youth to emulate the example of Baddam Yella Reddy who fought against the tyrannical rule of the erstwhile Nizam.
Addressing a gathering after Party Senior leader K L Mahendra unveiled the photograph of Mr Reddy on the occasion of his birth centenary, Dr Narayana said three communist stalwarts Ravi Narayana Reddy, Moqdum Moinuddin and Baddam Yella Reddy were instrumental in motivating the people to take up armed struggle against the Nizam.
The CPI would hold a meeting on April 23 and conduct programmes to perpetuate the memory of the freedom fighter.
In his address, Mr Mahendra said apart from fighting against the Nizam, Mr Baddam Yella Reddy also fought for the rights of the workers and farmers.
Mr Yella Reddy was mainly instrumental in the accession of the Nizam state into the Indian Union.
