Villagers torch lorry, block road after mishap

Bhopal, Apr 6 (UNI) Irate villagers today blocked traffic and torched a truck that crushed a girl this morning along the Khajuri-Raisen bypass road near the district's Misrod.

Police and fire brigade personnel were pelted with stones and police used mild force to bring the situation under control.

Police said the accident occurred at about 1000 hrs when Khajuri Kala village-resident Achal Singh Thakur's daughter Suruchi (11) was crossing the road. People pursued the vehicle and caught the driver and cleaner.

Senior police officers managed to pacify the mob and the blockade was lifted. The corpse was sent for post mortem, the driver and were cleaner arrested.
