Villagers condemn robbery by insurgents
Kohima, Apr 06(UNI) Three village councils under Tuensang district have condemned the loot of bus passengers allegedly by armed cadres of the 'Federal Government of Nagaland'(FGN) last month.
Describing it as a 'highly condemnable and heinous crime', a press statement jointly issued by Ngenyak chairman Sakchi village council, N. Chingmak, chairman of Bhumbak village council and N.L.
Mangyang, head gaon burah of Yangpi village, said armed FGN cadres waylaid two private buses belonging to Litem and Yangpi village councils of Noksen area while they were proceeding towards Tuensang town and looted Rs 25,000 from the passengers at gun point. They also harassed the passengers.
The statement also appealed to the FGN authorities to ensure that such acts did not recur.
