Two killed, RDX seized in Kashmir

Srinagar, Apr 6 (UNI) Two people were killed while security forces apaprehended a militant and seized arms and ammunition, including 30 kg of RDX, in the Kashmir valley since last evening, an official spokesman said today.

Militants shot dead 70-year-old Ghulam Ahmad Ganai, a village chowkidar (watchman), at Harhama in Bijbehara area of south Kashmir's Anantnag district this afternoon, he said.

The spokesman said police today recovered a bulletridden body of labourer Ram Lakhan, a resident of Ramgarh Khora in Uttar Pradesh, from an orchard near Rawoocha in Dangiwachi area of Baramulla district.

Security forces apprehended a militant from Natnoosa in the frontier district of Kupwara last night and seized 30 kg of RDX, one pistol, one magazine, nine rounds, one hand grenade and two detonators from his possession.
