Seven people injured in blast

Surat, Apr 6 (UNI) As many as seven people were injured, two of them seriously, when a fire broke out due to a blast in a three-storyed residential building on the Puna-Kumbharia Road here early today.

The blast occurred due to a gas leakage in one of the flats on the second-storyed building this morning, sources said.

Fire tenders rushed to the spot and extinguished the blaze and removed the injured from the site.

All the injured people were admitted to the SMIMER hospital here.

Barring the seriously injured, the others were discharged after first aid treatment.
