SCMS group plans medical college in Kollam district

Kochi, Apr 6 (UNI) The SCMS group of educational institutions has decided to start a medical college at Kottarakara in Kollam district besides a hotel management institute here, group chairman G P C Nair said today.

Addressing a press conference here, he said Kottarakara MLA and former minister R Balakrishna Pillai had offered 40 acres of land free of cost for this purpose. A 1500 bed hospital will also be opened along with the medical college next year, he added.

The group had also decided to start a hotel management institute and a pharmacy college at Kalamassery in Eranakulam district and an engineering college at Karukutty in Thrissur district, he added.
