RPF jawans accused of murder, attempt to murder
Etah, Apr 6 (UNI) Railway Police has registered a case against some Railway Protection Force (RPF) jawans accused of causing death to a teacher by pushing him from Farrukhabad-Kasganj passenger train here yesterday and firing at a mob resulting in serious bullet wounds to a youth.
The accused jawans have been charged under sections 302 and 307 for murder and attempt to murder.
Police superintendent (Railways) Rajbahadur Singh said here today the incident occurred near Kasganj railway station around 0800 hrs, when Mukesh -- a teacher at Saraswati Shishu Mandir -- was allegedly pushed out of the moving train.
Later, an irate mob comprising locals and students stopped the train at Badharikala and set afire the coach occupied by RPF, who were escorting government cash worth Rs 20 lakh.
The RPF also resorted to firing to control the mob, in which Dharmendra was wounded.
The Kasganj-Kanpur route remained disrupted for some time following the incident.
