Rio attacks Congress on 'Office of Profit'
Kohima, Apr 6: Nagaland Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio today accused the Opposition Congress for its 'cheap and false propaganda' on the office of profit issue.
Inaugurating a bridge about 30 kms from here, Mr Rio said the Congress had been talking about this issue for the last few weeks but did not raise it during the emergency session of the Nagaland Legislative assembly.
The state assembly had unanimously decided to wait for a legislation on office of profit on April 4.
Mr Rio said the Congress had been targeting him for holding office of profit.
''In a democratic set up everybody wants to work together. We do not want to disqualify aybody,'' he said.
The Chief Minister said. ''The Democratic Alliance of Nagaland (DAN) government is working for the welfare of the people of the state.'' Nagaland Roads and Bridges minister Tokheho Yepthomi maintenance of the village roads from this financial year will start soon.
