Ram Navami celebrated, temples festooned
New Delhi, Apr 6: Ram Navami, birthday of Hindu God Rama, was celebrated in the national capital today with people thronging temples that were decked up for the occasion.
Special stalls were put up by devotees across the city to distribute free food and 'sharbat'.
A religious procession (Shri Ram Janmostsav Sobha Yatra) was also taken out from Ramlila Ground in Old Delhi to Gangeshwar Dham Mandir near Karol Bagh in Central Delhi.
While the festival was celebrated at the Swaminarayan Akshardham temple in East Delhi today, 'Sri Ram Navmi Ustav' at the ISKCON would be celebrated tomorrow.
Elaborate security and traffic arrangements had been made by the city police on the occassion.
