Rains may pour water on people's cricket enthusiasm

Guwahati, Apr 6 (UNI) Asom assembly elections may not have dampened cricket enthusiasts in the city but the weather gods could.

With most tickets for the 5th ODI between India and England to be played at Nehru Stadium here on Sunday already sold out, all are keeping track of the weather forecast.

Rains have lashed the city since Monday and the weathermen hesitantly threaten of more downpour on the day of the match.

Media in-charge of the event Premadhar Sarma informed that both the teams would arrive on April 8 by a chartered planes.

Two separate pitches in the ground had been prepared for practice, he added.

Meanwhile, security officials visited the stadium yesterday.

Special security team from England would be arriving tomorrow.

Mr Sarma said more than 2000 security personnel would be deployed during the match besides the 42 private securitymen of the Assam Cricket Association.
