Jabir supports Medha Patekar in her "save Narmada stir"

Patna, Apr 06 (UNI) Chairman of the Bihar Legislative Council Professor Jabir Hussain today urged Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh to find a way to rehabilitate those people displaced by Tehri dam.

Famous environmentalist and pioneer of Narmada Bachao andolan, Medha Patkar in support of the issue was observing fast unto death.

In a press release, Prof Hussain expressed concern over the deteriorating health of Ms Patekar following her fast and said she was striving for the cause of the people.

He said it is a fact that we have mercilessly exploited our environment and all developmental programmes should be implemented keeping in mind the sufferings of the masses.

He appealed to the PM to immediately intervene into the situation in the interest ofthe people.
