Inflation well under control, says Finance Minister

Bangalore, Apr 6: Union Finance Minister P Chidambaram today expressed happiness over the inflation rate dropping below four per cent at 3.96 per cent.

Talking to newsmen here he said the government would make all efforts to keep inflation under control. ''we will take steps to maintain price stability'' he said adding''we are happy that inflation rate had come down''.

Replying to another question he said that the indirect tax collections he said that the government had achieved the revised estimates and the details would be announced in New Delhi on April 10.
