Industrialists Kalyani, Munjal and Ramoji Rao to get FIE awards

Ichalkaranji, Maharashtra, Apr 6 (UNI) Industrialists Baba Kalyani (Pune) and Brijmohan Lall Munjal (Delhi) and Ramoji Rao (Hyderabad) have been selected for this year's FIE foundation's 'Rashtrabhushan' award to be held here on April nine.

Addressing reporters jointly, FIE (Fuel Instruments and Engineers) foundation trustees S V Kulkarni and Dr Shrivalhabha Mardha said that Bharat Forge President Kalyani, motor-bike major Hero Honda Chairman Munjal and Ramoji Group, Hyderabad, Chairman Ramoji Rao, will be presented the award, which carries a cash of Rs five lakh each, by Chief Minister Vilasrao Deshmukh.

Other renowned personalities to recieve the award are actor Om Puri, actress Rani Mukherjee, script writer and lyricist Javed Akhtar, Secretary Department of Oceanography Dr P S Goel, Entrepreneur Vithal Kamat, Litterateur Ratnakar Matkari, Bajaj Auto General Manager Abraham Joseph, Indian Institute of Technology (Chennai) Professor and Head Material Forming Laboratory P Vevugopal, journalist Prabhu Chawla, Ms Anjali Bhagwat (Sports) and Ms Niketa Ghiya (social work). Each of them will get FIE special awards of Rs one lakh each, they said.

The other awardees includes Kles hospital Belgaum Heart Surgeon Dr Mahadev Dixit, swimmer Virdhawal Khade, Vice-Chancellor Sant Tukadoji Maharaj Nagpur University, Dr S N Pathan, Artists - Subray Bhandari and prof Venkatesh Kumar will get Rs 50, 000 each.
