HC summons UP CS, three other officials in Rae Bareli MLA case
Lucknow, Apr 6 (UNI) The Lucknow Bench of Allahabad High Court today directed the Uttar Pradesh Chief Secretary, District Magistrate, Senior Police Superintendent and Chief Medical Officer of Rae Bareli, to appear before the court on April 28, in connection with a case relating to an MLA from Rae Bareli district.
The case pertains to the MLA from Rae Bareli (Sadar) Akhilesh Singh, who has been undergoing treatment in the Rae Bareli district hospital, after being denied bail by the HC in a murder case.
The HC, had earlier, hearing a petition filed by one Anurag Pandey, alleging that Mr Singh had admitted himself at the hospital to evade arrest, constituted a team of doctors from Sanjay Gandhi Post Graduate Institute of Medical Sciences (SGPGIMS) Lucknow to examine the health of the MLA.
Later the medical team, in its report, had held that Mr Singh, was not ill.
Justice Shailendra Saxena, hearing the case today, posted it for further hearing on April 28, and ordered the four officials including State Chief Secretary to appear before the court on next hearing.
